Concerned about fighting crime to a standstill, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has identified the need to work more on ideas that would promote community policing in the rural areas.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Zuba under Gwagwalada Area Council, CSP Bashir Kontagora has called on the community members to support the men and officers with a view to curbing all forms of crime that may come up.
CSP Kontagora, who was exchanging views with a cross section of residents of the area, encouraged them to support the police to achieve maximum result in their effort against crime.
He called on the members of the public to always regard crime prevention and control as a collective responsibility and not a one person affair.
The CSP assured the people of adequate protection by the police at all times, even as he called for synergy among them and officers of the division.
The DPO implored them to keep supporting the work of the police just he charged them to go about with their legitimate business without fear of harassment and molestation from any quarter.
?The police will continue to put on strong measures to nib crime in the bud, and in doing this we all need the people support.?
He tasked residents of the area to cultivate the habit of sharing vital information with the police, noting that the act would in no small measure reduce crime.
The DPO also assured stakeholders in Zuba and its environs that police would
always treat information in confidence, which and called members of the vigilante to always carry out their activities in fairness.
