The Armenia international has failed to establish his status as an important first-team player under Jose Mourinho but is determined to prove his doubters wrong
Henrikh Mkhitaryan believes he should be a key player in Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United squad.
The Armenian has struggled to establish himself under the Portuguese manager since his summer move to Old Trafford, making just one Premier League appearance so far.
And though Mkhitaryan has been linked with a move away from the club in January, he believes he can still become a success if given a chance.
“I know I can succeed at Manchester United and I want to show everyone that I deserve to be a key player in this team, in this league,” the 27-year-old said in an interview with the Armenian FA.
“There are no disappointments, just challenges; I never stop or give up when I encounter obstacles in my way, I just continue going until I reach my career objectives.
“Today I don’t have enough playing time, so I have to do all my best so the coaching staff gives me the chance to play. I’ll keep working hard and this will pay off.”
