After spending heavy cash in the summer transfer window, Manchester United are still interested in splashing more cash to reinforce their squad in the winter transfer window.
Manager Jose Mourinho signed Eric Bailly for a huge fee to strengthen his defense last summer and now reports suggest that the Portuguese manager is ready to sign another defender in the form of Benfica right back Nelson Semedo.
According to reports (Sport Wintess via O Jogo), Manchester United want to seal the signing of the 22-year-old fullback who has a release clause of 45 million euros in his contract ($49million).
The Portuguese international is a versatile talent who can play on either side of the defense and provide support in the attacking third as well.
Last season, Nelson had an injury hit campaign where he featured in 22 games, scored 4 goals and also provided 3 assists. This season, in 8 league appearances, he has directly contributed in 2 goals (1 goal and 1 assist). He made his debut for the senior national side last year.
